Okay so I'm a little behind...

December

This year we thought we would try to have a new family tradition, we decided we would visit Greenfield Visit during their Holiday Nights. The village was all decorated with Christmas themes, fire pits, story tellers and everything that would take you back a century at Christmas time. Jenna loved it, she saw Santa, we drank hot chocolate, rode the giant carrousel and walked around. At the end of the night they had fireworks and we walked around the gift shop. To say the very least it was freezing outside, and we just weren't prepared enough. So Kara was miserable. So we took a quick trip back to my parents house and warmed up. Dropped Kara off and made it back in time for the fireworks. Next year we are going again but this time PREPARED!!

Christmas was a great time around here. Christmas eve we spent time with Brian's family at his parents house. Christmas day was pretty busy around here, the girls woke up and my parents came over to help and watch the girls open their gifts. Afterwards we went to Aunt Kathy's house and celebrated with our usual game of "What not gifts"..the girls had a ball.

January

In January we began to notice Jenna's left eye wandering inwards towards her nose, and decided it would be a great time for her five year old check up. After five booster shots, our family Dr. referred us to a Ophthalmologist. Our first visit wasn't very successful, the Dr. office was busy and they were short staffed, Jenna was hyper and wasn't doing well with the eye drops that Dr. wanted to use to dilate her eyes, and also wasn't paying attention to the Dr. instructions for the eye test, So Dr. Sherman subscribed eye drops for us to dilate Jenna's eyes at home and bring her back to the office the following Monday. She did good considering she was not happy at all with the drops. This time Grammy came along for the ride. It was determined that she would need glasses for farsightedness and that it should help her cross eyedness, if not they would have to patch her eyes. She did so much better this time and the Dr. said that "Grammy was the best." Prior to leaving the house we had to make a promise that if they wanted to give her a shot we would leave. This has now became her rule for any doctor visit. So off to the eye glass shop and two days later Jenna began to wear her new glasses during all waking hours.

February & March

With glasses on, Jenna's eye became better and she enjoys wearing her glasses. We went back to the Dr. today and he said that her eyes were better and left her just in glasses without patching, but did want to see her again in 3 months for another check to see if at that time patching would be called for.

Kara is changing everyday and getting bigger and bigger. She is just days away from being 2. She's now beginning to really pick up on her language adding new words daily. Her new favorite thing is to say "Ello" when the phone rings and answer the phone. She can say "Mama, Dada, Sissy, Charger, Papa, Pop, James, Thank You, Phone, Bed, Night, Ba Ba, Barney (Oh my the Barney. Kara has now become a huge Barney fan insisting on watching Barney several times a day), Kitty, Dog Dog, She can Nod Yes, and say No..and oh boy does she say No. She likes to color and draw and refers to this as IE..we have not clue how she got I E from color or draw but she sure does like to IE. And several other words I just can't think of right now. She has also this week made the transition from her crib to her brand new toddler bed. Last night was her first night in her bed, and she did pretty good after we convinced her it was okay. One thing that the girls surly got from their daddy was the fact that they don't like change. Kara's hair is still wonderfully curly and I love it.

Also another special member of our family is Charger. Its hard to believe we've had him for a year now. Both girls are extremely attached to him, and he's pretty special to Brian and myself. So I thought I would just put a comparison picture of him from last April when we got him and now!!

Sorry for such a long OVERDUE post. But now that your updated, I'll try to update the site more regular. I'll be taking Kara's 2 yr old pictures sometime this week, and her party is on Sunday so I'll have pictures from that.

Great pictures. I love Jena's glasses! She looks so fashionable. I also love the color of Kara's hair. I'd like hair that color, but of course I'd have to buy it in a box!

Thanks for the update, Kacy.
